Rivotril® is a seizure medicine, also called an anti-epileptic drug.
Rivotril® is used to treat certain seizure disorders (including absence seizures or Lennox-Gastaut syndrome) in adults and children.
Rivotril® is also used to treat panic disorder (including agoraphobia) in adults.
Take Rivotril® by mouth. Take Rivotril® exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Follow all directions on your prescription label. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose to make sure you get the best results. Do not use this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
Rivotril® may be habit-forming. Never share this medicine with another person, especially someone with a history of drug abuse or addiction. Keep the medication in a place where others cannot get to it.
Misuse of habit-forming medicine can cause addiction, overdose, or death. Selling or giving away this medicine is against the law.
Rivotril® should be used for only a short time. Do not take this medication for longer than 9 weeks without your doctor’s advice.
Rivotril® is best stored at room temperature away from direct light and moisture. To prevent drug damage, you should not store Rivotril® in the bathroom or the freezer. There may be different brands of Rivotril® that may have different storage needs. It is important to always check the product package for instructions on storage, or ask your pharmacist. For safety, you should keep all medicines away from children and pets.
You should not flush Rivotril® down the toilet or pour them into a drain unless instructed to do so. It is important to properly discard this product when it is expired or no longer needed. Consult your pharmacist for more details about how to safely discard your product.

Your doctor will start you on a low dose of Rivotril® and gradually increase it over 2 to 4 weeks until the right dose has been found for you.
Your doctor will usually tell you to split your daily dose into three equal amounts which you will take at evenly spaced times throughout the day.
If the daily dose cannot be split equally, take the largest dose at bedtime.
Once your doctor has found the right dose for you, they may tell you to take Rivotril® as a single dose in the evening.

Rivotril® is available in the following dosage forms and strengths:
In case of an emergency or an overdose, call your local emergency services or go to your nearest emergency room.
If you miss a dose of Rivotril®, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your regular dose as scheduled. Do not take a double dose.
