What is Progyluton® (Estradiol Valerate, Norgestrel) used for?

Progyluton® is commonly used for regulation the menstrual cycle when abnormal uterine bleeding occurs. Because there are fewer side effects with this medication, doctors usually prescribe Progyluton® for young girls and older women with menstrual irregularities.

How should I take Progyluton® (Estradiol Valerate, Norgestrel)?

• Swallow the tablet whole with water.
• It may be taken with or without food.

Precautions & warnings

What should I know before using Progyluton® (Estradiol Valerate, Norgestrel)?

Avoid the use of Progyluton® if you:

• Are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Have undiagnosed vaginal bleeding.
• Have a suspected or confirmed breast cancer.
• Have a known or suspected precancerous or cancerous condition that is related to sex steroids.
• Have liver tumors or a history of liver tumors, either benign or malignant.
• Have severe liver disease.
• Have a history of clots, stroke, or heart attack.
• Have high levels of triglycerides.

Side effects

These side effects could occur when using Progyluton®, such as:

• Lower stomach pain
• Delayed menstruation

• Breast tenderness
• Acne and pimples
• Nausea
• Water retention
• Weight gain
• Mood swings

All these symptoms are temporary and disappear overtime with regular use of these tablets.

What is the dose of Progyluton® (Estradiol Valerate, Norgestrel) for an adult?

The dosage for these tablets begin with 1 tablet from the first day of menstrual cycle. Then one tablet each day for 20 days, followed by 7 days without taking the tablet.

If you want to continue the course of this medicine again, start with the new strip from 8th day since you took the tablet last.

What is the dose of Progyluton® (Estradiol Valerate, Norgestrel) for a child?

This medicine should not be given to children and infants. Keep this tablet away from the reach of children. If a child accidentally takes this tablet, rush him immediately to your doctor.

How is Progyluton® (Estradiol Valerate, Norgestrel) available?

Progyluton® is available in the following dosage forms and strengths:

• 11 White Tablet; Oral; Estradiol Valerate 2 mg
• 10 Brown Tablet; Oral; Estradiol Valerate 2 mg; Norgestrel 0.5 mg

What should I do in case of an emergency or overdose?

In case of an emergency or an overdose, call your local emergency services or go to your nearest emergency room.

What should I do if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose of Progyluton®, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your regular dose as scheduled. Do not take a double dose.
