What is Lacteol Fort® (Lactobacillus acidophilus/ Culture Medium) used for?

Lacteol Fort® is commonly used for the treatment of diarrhea, diarrhea associated with hospitalization, antibiotic treatments, cancer chemotherapy, irritable bowel syndrome and other conditions.

How should I take Lacteol Fort® (Lactobacillus acidophilus/ Culture Medium)?

Lacteol Fort® is taken by mouth with or without food, and at least 2 hours before or after antibiotics.

How do I store Lacteol Fort® (Lactobacillus acidophilus/ Culture Medium)?

Lacteol Fort® is best stored at room temperature away from direct light and moisture. To prevent drug damage, you should not store Lacteol Fort® in the bathroom or the freezer. There may be different brands of Lacteol Fort® that may have different storage needs. It is important to always check the product package for instructions on storage, or ask your pharmacist. For safety, you should keep all medicines away from children and pets.

• Initially: 4 capsules
• Subsequent dose: 2 capsules

Sachet:

• Initial dose: 2 sachets
• Subsequent dose: 1 sachet

What is the dose of Lacteol Fort® (Lactobacillus acidophilus/ Culture Medium) for a child?

Capsules:

• Initially: 2 capsules
• Subsequent dose: 2 capsules

Sachet:

• Initial dose: 1-2 sachet
• Infant 1 sachet
• Subsequent dose: 1 sachet

How is Lacteol Fort® (Lactobacillus acidophilus/ Culture Medium) available?

Lacteol Fort® is available in the following dosage forms and strengths:

• Capsule; Oral; Lactobacillus Acidophilus 170 mg
• Powder; Oral; Lactobacillus Acidophilus 340 mg

What should I do in case of an emergency or overdose?

In case of an emergency or an overdose, call your local emergency services or go to your nearest emergency room.

What should I do if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose of Lacteol Fort®, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your regular dose as scheduled. Do not take a double dose.
