Having an inappropriate diet is one of the main factors that puts negative impacts on the male sexual performance. Certain types of foods and drinks have been shown to affect the level of testosterone directly or indirectly. To have a good erection, staying away from some certain foods. Meat

Research has proven that a diet that leaves bad effect on a man’s heart also affects his ability to have erections. A healthy blood circulation is the indispensible factor to achieve and maintain good erection. If you have troubles with your cardiovascular health, it is possible that you have erectile dysfunction. Many types of meat such as pork and beef are high in fat and cholesterol can be the culprits of poor heart health and erection. Therefore, men should limit the intake unhealthy meat in their diet and switch to plant-based proteins such as omega3 fatty acids in fatty fish and fats from seeds, avocado or olive oil.

Fried foods

Fried foods also cause troubles to your heart as well as your sexual function. One of the worst foods for your heart is the oil heated to high temperatures. This causes eaters problems with cholesterol. Weight gain or obesity, which is partially caused by fried foods, can contribute to hormone imbalance in men. If you want to achieve a better sexual performance, it is high time to say goodbye to french fries, doughnuts, nuggets, and fried meats. These foods also have an association with prostate cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Soy

A study carried by Harvard School of Public Health found that a healthy man’s sperm counts can drop by 40 percent with just a half serving of soy per day. Researchers also found that the more soy you eat, the more your testosterone level reduces. This is because soy contains substances that mimic estrogen, a female hormone present very little in man’s body. Eating soy will lead to the imbalance between estrogen and testosterone, causing troubles to men’s sexual health. Thus, men to avoid soy, especially soy products from processed foods, energy bars, etc. However, fermented soy or soy made by using natural fermentation, tempeh, and natto can be exceptions.

Canned foods or plastic packed foods

Bisphenol A, normally referred as BPA, is a chemical substance found in most canned foods and foods stored in plastic containers. It has scientifically proven to have an association with erectile dysfunction, decreased sexual drive, and infertiliy. Men should avoid canned food and try not to store foods in plastic containers. Microwaving your foods in those containers is also not a good choice because BPA can be released by the heat. Try to use other types of containers or look for products labeled “BPA-free”. Moreover, it is also advisable to limit or say no to bottled water.

Too much alcohol

Excessive consumption of alcohol can negatively affect men’s erection and sexual performance. According to a science report, binge drinking which is equivalent to 5 or more drinks a day can lead to a significant reduction in testosterone levels. It can eliminate testosterone from your blood stream and decrease the production of this hormone in a man’s body. Meanwhile, a moderate drinking, usually one to two drinks show little or no immediate effect on the testosterone level. Therefore, men should remember to keep their drinking in moderation.
